Keeping Children and Youth Safe

Are you interested in KCYS training?

The next training at ICC will be April 9th from 9:00 am—12 noon. This initial training is for those who have never received training or whose certification is beyond the 30-day grace period. Babysitting will be provided if requested at least 2 days prior to session.

If you need to renew your certification and are within the 30-day grace period, you can take the retraining online.

Contact the parish office for details and to make your reservation.

Is KCYS training required?

At this time, Keeping Children and Youth Safe (KCYS) training isn’t compulsory for our members since the nature of our ministry requires each member to accompany and be responsible for her own children at all times.

All members are encouraged to attend a KCYS training session, however. It is a Diocesan policy that all volunteers have a background check and attend a KCYS training session, and as our ministry grows and we branch out into service to our church community, KCYS training will be required.

Our Ministry Coordinator (and her husband) are current with KCYS certification.

Please contact the parish office for details about upcoming KCYS training sessions or e-mail the Ministry Coordinator with any questions.
